Okay..anyhoo, I've been selected to be one of the 7 Aussie Ambassadors for Tv3's My Aussie Adventure Travelogue which will be on air from 1st June 2008!
It all started from that fateful day, Soo and I were looking at The Sun newspaper after lunch (i cant remember which day la ok) and I spotted this article on the Aussie Ambassador recruitment drive.
About 10 mins later, Nora called me and practically verbal diarrhoea-ed on me to go sign up...it was more like a COMMAND!
So I tried to get on the site like A MILLION TIMES! coz the internet line at our office....has PMS.
Practically went nuts refreshing again n again!!
Finally logged in and did all the necessary in about 2 mins before the line goes bye-bye again.
2 days later...i think...they called me to tell me i was shortlisted and asked if i could go for an audition at Sri Pentas. Hell YEAH!
So booked my flight for a day trip - 19th April.
Fretted on what attire to wear - Smart casual...hey...diff ppl...diff definitions okay! tried borrowing some clothes...but...ermm....y'all know i'm kinda TINY rite...so that didn't work out too well...ended up wearing my own clothes.
Arrived at 1Utama...walked till I was bored out of my brains...so decided to head to Sri Pentas early...my slot was 3.40pm...i got there at 2.30...talk about being enthusiastic! nah, i just didn't want to hang around 1U anymore....
Met some of the other shortlisted candidates...chatted with the cameracrew....and was super excited...not Jakun excited la ok...gimme a break! Have some faith!
So when it was time for me to go in...heh....nervous?? HELL NO! what for?? Human beans wat...
Oh yea, when i arrived...the cameracrew did a lil 'interview' outside....intro self...etc...and asked "what do you expect from this audition?" Me replied - "I expect to be chosen!" wah! damn perasan....
I mean, honestly rite? i didn't fly down all the way without expecting that wat....waste time?
The Audition....introself...talk a lil bit ..... asked a few questions....answered....posed for some profile shots...*think mug shots* right side profile, left side profile, front, turn....only thing missing was that board with some numbers and my name....Ha!
I also had to pretend to host a roller-coaster ride....er...lets not talk about that OKAY!
Moving on....when I was done..the cameracrew outside did another short feedback shoot....asking how it went...whether i was nervous..etc...yah u know the drill...
No not nervous, judges were friendly...didnt give me a hard time...CHOOSE ME!!
Got home late on the same day...and was lounging at home on Sunday, after i was woken up at 8.30am by my 2 babies!! Showered both of them....watched a bit of TV and decided...i need to rest.....was napping till 6pm (yar dont judge me okay!) when the phone rang (and u know how blur anyone would be if woken up from their snooze) ....was Tourism Australia!! Called to tell me I have been shortlisted again! Wah! Too blur to understand....and they wanted me to make a 10min video of myself....with some introduction and me packing my bags to go.....okaaaayyyy...and they want it by TUESDAY! like...er...its 6pm on Sunday....and I have work on monday....that means i have to courier it down on MONDAY itself....
so...that leaves me....ONE NIGHT to get it done!

Started cracking on it right away....thought of what to say...look for pics....tried not to look like an arse doing it....and finally finished it at 2.30am!! Gotta say THANK YOU GARY!! kept him up when he had school the next day! luckily Mom wasn't in....heheh!
Oh, didn't mention that they also wanted me to go down for briefing on 23rd....which was like 3 days away! Decided...must take coach d la...kenot afford flying down all the time....poor bugger.
Took the Konsortium snoozer coach on 22nd night...watched 2 movies...heh....
Got there about 1.30am!! RAR!! David (bro) picked me up to stay over at his place in Cheras....
Woke up about 8am and got ready to go... took a bus...to the Monorail station...took the monorail to Tourism Australia's office....got there early again....oh hey, better than late rite?
Sat there n waited ler....and this really gorgeous girl walked in....WHOA!! i'm not lesbo ok..but she's really hot! That's Miss Kimmy Chan!! heh....yea, really nice, sweet and friendly too!
Next, came Lim Chee Wah....a photojournalist...then Jaclyn Sharmelee a marketing executive....followed by Dr. Adli Ali ....we all chatted for a bit....then walked in 2 more people, Effa and Alfred Loh. Actually, till then..we didnt know if we were already confirmed as the selected 7 or just shortlisted.....but hey, one can count right?
So they called us in.....announced that we're been selected! YAY!!! and told us where we'd be going....I got Canberra....at first i was like....er...."where's that??" oHKAYYYY shame on mE!
I wanted Melbourne!! but Kim got that...nevermind..i'll go live there one day!

Our Press Conference (PC) was scheduled for 29th April....everything was such a rush! They also planned for a montage shoot the next day...but as they didnt inform me earlier...i didnt take my leave from work...so i had to postpone mine to the 29th when i'm there for the PC.
29th APRIL 2008 - PRESS CONFERENCE DAY!!
Got into KL at about 12.30am....yea took the coach again...and the one i was suppose to take broke down..so they put us on another coach - to SINGAPORE!! but of coz they dropped us off ler... also refunded the difference....good.
So blardee sleepy ok....was freezing also....dont understand y they have to turn on the AC full blast....didnt help that it was raining ALL THE WAY!
Stayed over at my cousin Sheena's place (actually Ian's place la). Got up at 7.30am...got ready...iron my high-maintenance blue top....etc etc....
Ever grateful to Ian for dropping me off at Sri Pentas early for the PC.
Met Jaclyn just outside the Multipurpose hall...and yea, lugged my trolley bag all over with me...i have the shoot after ma....and i planned to head back to Penang after all that...
We were all early...and as all Malaysian events...yea...needs little explanation.
Took a group shot....waited...waited....
The Sesat 7.
Then Daphne Iking and Naz arrived....chatted with us...they were really funny and down to earth...Excellent!
Daphne...she's gorgeous!
Then the whole PC thingie started .... they screened our homemade videos.....*CRINGE*
Then got us on stage...we introed ourselves again...talked a bit about how we felt...all that jazz.

We were kinda hungry...so when we had the chance...stuffed our faces....hunger ma!
Camwhored a bit...when the press left! Had an Icebreaking session with Naz & Daphne...like a pep-talk....
We even had to do that "trust" activity....where we'd freefall -backwards and Naz would catch us...hopefully....HAH! he did ler...
We had to shout "I'm....(insert name) and I'm going to ...(insert state)"
Someone, we found out...was called Australia...and he was probably going to Alfred! HAHAHAHAHHAH!!!
After it was all done with...i headed back with the filmming crew to their studio for my montage shoot.
I TELL YA...its NOT EASY thinking of about a MILLION poses okay....NOT EASY! Summore must MOVE!! like action shots....ARGH!! pegidah! i look CACAT ok....

So rite....habis....baliks....tot i'd take the Aeroline from 1U la....but u know what?? the ONLY coach they have to penang was at 10am. rite...
Had to make my way to Pudu...took 2 busses and walked about 500 metres! nice...
Jumped on a 6pm snoozer coach and headed home.....tired....sniffly...(caught a cold) but glad to be going back....i need mah BED!! and i MISS MY PooPiedles and mAH PARPIE!
Got home.....went online heheheh!! yea laaa!!! and saw the pics online d!!
